5 Baking Recipes with a Healthier Twist

woman baking at home

Baking has undergone a surge in popularity over the last decade; in lockdown in particular, people turned to baking, using the limited ingredients they could get their hands on to make everything from sourdough to banana bread.

It wasn’t just lack of resources that saw people turn to baking, but also the therapeutic nature of the activity. Kneading dough or mixing cake ingredients can be a brilliant mindful activity, and there’s the joy of the satisfaction of seeing the end result of your work – and of course eating it too.

At Garden of Life, you’ll find products such as coconut oil, vegan protein powders and even collagen powder that can all be used to add a healthier twist to classic baking recipes.

From brownies to biscotti and from doughnuts to scones, here’s our collection of irresistible baking recipes:

1. Popcorn Chocolate Brownies

Sweet, salty and wonderfully chocolatey, these popcorn chocolate brownies include a few clever swaps, because we believe that extraordinary ingredients empower extraordinary health.

They’re made using almond flour, cacao to bring that chocolate flavour, melted coconut oil in place of butter and organic cane sugar.

These brownies are seriously quick and easy to make, so take yourself to the kitchen, have some time to yourself, and enjoy a well-deserved treat.

4. Almond Biscotti

This gluten-free biscotti recipe is the perfect accompaniment to your tea or coffee break. Biscotti is Italian for ‘twice-baked’, as these biscuits require you to make a dough that’s baked in the oven once, before being sliced into individual biscotti and baked once more, meaning they’re an incredibly sturdy dunking choice.

Our almond biscotti features gluten-free flour, coconut palm sugar, vegan butter, dark chocolate, Garden of Life Grass-Fed Collagen Peptides Powder and a whole host of other delicious ingredients.
